Data Management and lifecycle Lead – DROP Platform & D365 FO

We are looking for a Data Management and lifecycle Lead – DROP Platform & D365 FO for a global manufacturing company in Malmö.
Start is in September 2025, 3 month's contract to begin with, possibility of extension after that.
Summary
This role supports ROSS in its strategic transformation towards a data-driven organization by leading data management initiatives across the DROP platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 FO), and D365 Commerce. The position is pivotal in aligning data governance, architecture, and operational processes with the broader ROSS data mesh strategy.
ROSS is on a journey of redefining its data management strategy by adopting Data Mesh concept. MSD365 FO and Commerce business platform i.e. DROP plays a huge role in the journey and is currently hosting a significant chunk of data. The role requires a deep understanding of data management activities and their importance to support an organization who is on a journey of becoming a data-driven organization. In this role, you will be working closely with the ROSS Architecture Leader, Data and Information.
About DROP
DROP has many areas of need to manage data. Such as creating new environments based on databases, data packages, combination of databases and data packages and continuously syncing delta changes into environments. We have many environments that serve many purposes, for many stakeholders where we need full traceability towards changes within the data perspective.
Responsibilities – DROP Platform
- Design processes aligned with ROSS level processes to cater for the need of moving data within the defined data movement use cases. Also, understanding and designing new use cases as well as managing current ones.
- Lead the work to implement the processes defined.
- Setup DROP level governance structure aligned with ROSS data governance framework to secure that processes and capabilities are kept enabled and updated.
- Work closely with data stakeholders, such as QA, automation, security, product and transition teams.
- Align Data management capabilities with DROP CI/CD capability and design for re usability to cater for future migration need.
- Data management strategy – Align with ROSS data strategy and implement it in DROP.
- Define and design Data masking capability – Collaborate with central team for local and global data security policies and environment (prod, non-prod) requirements.
- Collaborate and align with overall initiatives and strategies.
- Aligning DROP with the ROSS data reference architecture and ROSS data governance framework.
Responsibilities – D365 FO
- Define, design and lead the architecture needed to enable data management capabilities.
- Execute the design and implement processes, tools and architecture.
- Define and design import sequence schedules and data projects.
- Automate export and import of defined data projects between environments with defined data import/export sequence schedules.
- Troubleshoot issues within the data management area.
- Act as a leader to support data management questions with other teams.
- Manual execution of import and export, to and from D365FO when it is needed.
Responsibilities – D365 Commerce
- Lead the definition and execution of data strategies for D365 Commerce, including retail stores, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and call centers.
- Oversee the migration of critical commerce data entities such as products, assortments, pricing, discounts, promotions, customer master data (retail-specific attributes), loyalty programs, POS profile, receipt profiles and store configurations.
- Design and implement data quality standards and validation rules specifically for retail data within D365 Commerce.
- Manage data synchronization and integration efforts between D365 Commerce and other external commerce-related systems (e.g., payment gateways).
- Develop and optimize data import/export routines using D365 Commerce Data Exchange (CDX) and other relevant tools to ensure seamless data flow between head office and retail stores/online channels.
- Work closely with retail operations and product teams to identify data needs, resolve data discrepancies, and ensure data readiness for go-live and ongoing operations.
- Implement robust data governance and security measures for sensitive commerce data.
- Provide expertise in troubleshooting data-related issues specific to D365 Commerce functionalities.
Required Competencies:
- Proven experience as a database management lead in MSD365 projects, focusing on FO and Commerce modules.
- In-depth knowledge of D365 FO and Commerce modules including integration.
- Strong experience in managing data governance in complex and multiple environments.
- Strong understanding and experience in data architecture, data strategy, data migration, data governance, data masking, compliance, monitoring & reporting, processes and best practices within D365.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile, product oriented and collaborative environment.

Primary Working Site: Preferred Malmö, with travel 1–2 times/month
