Embedded Software Architect

We are looking for an "Embedded Software Architect" for a global company in Huskvarna, Jönköping with hybrid (40% remote) work possibilities.
Start is ASAP, 8 month's contract to begin with, possibility of extension after that.
We are now looking for an additional team member who want to join our journey with advanced platform development. You will have a key role and the opportunity to work in a hands on department were we decide how we want to develop our products and functionality. The system will include wireless connected, Remote controlled, Autonomous functions and much more. The main focus is all electric machines. You will be involved in the product development from start-up to mass production. You will have focus on embedded software. The motor controller software use a light weight operating system without any file system support running on a CPU. All embedded software is written in C, with the addition of a few assembler routines meaning extensive experience writing code in C is a requirement for the software role.
The Wheeled department has over 50 employees who work with product development, both electric and mechanics. You will be part of a team with 16 colleagues where you will have the opportunity to get an overview and follow entire processes with short decision path.
Core Requirements (Must-Haves):
- Experience developing embedded software is essential for this role.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English; Swedish is a plus.
- The role requires abstract and analytical thinking, along with being organized in your development work.
- You should be comfortable working under fixed deadlines and deliverables, as testing occurs in summer and product releases in winter (Agile practices are not fully applicable).
- Product safety standards (both external and internal) must be followed, requiring a requirement-driven development approach with architecture documentation and multi-level testing.
- Ability to develop PC software, preferably in C#, is a merit, especially since standard tools may not always be available.
Education & Background:
A university degree is expected. However, significant hands-on experience and strong interest in embedded development can replace this, as long as you have basic math skills.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Combine theoretical, analytical, and practical work in your daily tasks.
- Perform measurements on electronics and motor tests using a dyno rig.
- Drive the product to collect real-world data during testing.
- Troubleshoot issues that are discovered during the test phase.
- Be prepared to do rapid prototyping, especially when bugs appear late in the project.
