ClusterRAN Emulator Design

At Huawei Technologies Sweden (HWSE) Wireless System Labs we are working with the next generation 5G product concepts, features and architecture. The requirements of the 5G RAN to support a broad spectra of services, calls for a very flexible RAN infrastructure. The dynamic RAN infrastructure control shall be able to create and provision the required RAN functionality in run-time providing specific characteristics. Our task is to design and validate a RAN System Architecture that can fulfill these goals. A major objective is to do a concept design to visualize and validate the merits of the dynamic infrastructure control. This includes development of back-end architecture components as well as a front-end visualization for our emulator environment. The concept design is mainly made using Python (Back-end), JavaScript (Front- end) and RESTFul API principles.

We are therefore looking for an engaged and committed software developer that can work in all parts of the emulator system design. You will be a member in a committed team implementing and proposing concepts that will influence the future Mobile Systems. We expect you to be experienced in Python and JavaScript development.

 Required skills/personal characteristics

  • M.Sc. in computer science, physics, electronics or similar
  • Experience from several software development projects that has included both back-end and front-end development.
  • Fluent in English
  • Social, with experience from working in small projects (i.e., demo systems)
  • Used to taking responsibility and drive (limited) subsystem development

Qualifications & experience

  • Experience in Python and JavaScript development
  • Mobile/wireless communication domain knowledge

This is a full-time consultancy position at our R&D office in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden.
