Tech Writer (Pre-Study Customer Documentation)
We are looking for a Senior Tech Writer (Pre-Study Customer Documentation) for a global automotive company in Gothenburg.
Start is in June 2026, 4-months limited contract to begin with, possibility of extension after that.
Purpose of the Pre-Study
The purpose of the pre-study is to develop a proposed framework and recommended operating model for customer documentation, which can be used both internally and in customer-facing communication. The study should also propose how documentation processes can be streamlined, automated, and potentially supported by AI.
Scope / Key Questions
The pre-study should include, at minimum:
1. Mapping of Existing and Required Documentation
An assessment of what documentation we currently provide — or should provide — to customers, including for example:
a. Product descriptions
b. User guides
c. Release notes
d. API specifications
e. Documentation within Console or other customer-facing interfaces
f. Other technical or operational documentation
2. Current State and Responsibilities
Description of the current setup, including:
a. Who updates which documentation
b. When and how frequently documentation is updated
c. Dependencies related to Product, Development, Support, Release Management, or other functions
3. Recommendations for Future Ways of Working
Including:
a. Proposed framework for customer documentation
b. Recommendations for adding, improving, or removing documentation content
c. Governance and ownership
d. Process for updates and quality assurance
e. Recommendations on how documentation should be presented clearly to customers (e.g. via Console)
f. Recommended update frequency
4. Automation and AI
Including:
a. Identification of parts of the documentation workflow that could be automated
b. Assessment of whether AI support could be used for activities such as content generation, updates, summarization, or quality assurance
c. Recommendations regarding possible implementation, tooling, or next steps
Expected Deliverables
We expect the pre-study delivery to include:
• Current state assessment
• Identified gaps and improvement areas
• Recommended framework for customer documentation
• Proposal for future processes and responsibilities
• Assessment of automation and AI opportunities
• Recommended roadmap and next steps
Desired Competence Profile
We believe the assignment requires a person or partner with experience in:
• Technical documentation / customer documentation
• Product or service documentation within software, SaaS, and APIs
• Information architecture or documentation governance
• Process mapping
• Preferably experience with automation and AI within documentation workflows
This role requires fluency in English.
This is a full-time consultant position in Gothenburg through Incluso. Start is in June 2026, 4 months limited contract to begin with. This role is 100% onsite in Gothenburg.
