Material/Chemistry: Advanced Thermal Interface Material

We seek a researcher to join the SRC MPE and Module Engineering Lab, which is part of Huawei’s Research Center in Stockholm. It’s a creative, international team that works across different fields to explore new technologies and turn them into real solutions.
You will be responsible for
Driving research (simulation, prototyping and verification) within microscale heat transfer physics and chemistry for TIM.
Giving technical and theoretical guidance for research on new TIM materials and their processes based on product demands and industry trends. This is to achieve technical breakthroughs, especially in the areas of: overall conductivity, reliability and cost.
Supporting the verification and test data analysis of key materials & processes: Including internal prototypes and samples or those obtained from cooperation with external partners.
Supporting the build-up of an academic and industrial ecosystem/network, and providing scientific support and advice for the coming cooperation projects in this network, including national, EU frameworks and other project calls.
Supporting the build-up of the TIM-testing laboratory in Huawei´s Stockholm office.
Requirments
PhD in the area of advanced materials, nanomaterials or materials physics and/or chemistry with a focus on changing/improving the basic functionality of the materials and/or their surfaces.
One to two years of post-doc experience in research and development
within the area, preferably from the industry.
Excellent understanding of TIM; its R&D, its manufacturing process, its function, including the interaction with surrounding units/surfaces and the reliability of the total solutions.
Experience with molecular simulation tools and methods, and in micro-scale heat transfer.
Excellent understanding of advanced material resources and trends in the material research industry, especially new innovative surface treatments and other ways to change/improve the basic functionality of materials and/or their surfaces.
Excellent knowledge of general advanced material & processing.
A solid knowledge of European universities or technology research organisations.
This is a full-time consultant position.
