Quality Expert Lead

We are looking for a Quality Expert to join a global company of innovative services for the automotive industry. They help create safe, smart, and sustainable mobility solutions for car brands such as Volkswagen, Volvo Cars, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, Subaru, and Daimler.
This is a six-month contract starting September 2025. Possible to be extended. 25% remote work.
The Assignment
The Quality Expert Lead role in Assistance Services champions quality engineering, security, and CI/CD best practices across multiple agile development teams, adopting an end-to-end (E2E) mindset.
Responsible for defining and implementing scalable quality strategies, ensuring automated testing and security checks are embedded into the delivery pipeline, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and a quality-first mindset across the Assistance Services Delivery organization.
The Quality Engineering Lead role in Assistance Services is more of a technical role than a process-oriented one, even though processes are a part of it.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive a quality strategy that aligns with business goals and delivery timelines, incorporating security as a key quality attribute.
- Define quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, test coverage, MTTR) and reporting across teams.
- Establish consistent QA processes across all teams while supporting team autonomy and promoting secure development practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automated testing and security validations in CI/CD pipelines (unit, integration, and E2E).
- Define and enforce standards for pipeline gates, test coverage, quality, and security thresholds.
- Ensure fast feedback loops through optimized and parallelized test execution, including security checks
- Act as a cross-team QE leader, mentoring engineers on testing and secure coding best practices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to ensure testability, observability, and security in solutions.
- Lead quality planning and risk assessment in release cycles, factoring in potential security impacts.
- Guide the design and maintenance of robust automated testing frameworks, with built-in support for security testing.
- Evaluate and adopt tools for static analysis, security scanning, and performance testing as part of CI/CD.
- Foster a shift-left testing mindset, emphasizing early testing, prevention, and secure development.
- Facilitate activities focused on improving test effectiveness, pipeline reliability, and vulnerability detection.
- Stay up to date with industry trends in quality engineering, CI/CD, security, and DevOps
- Drive the adoption of AI-driven quality assurance practices to enhance test efficiency, security analysis, and defect prediction.
- Promote the exploration and responsible integration of AI/ML tools to automate repetitive testing, security scanning, and quality analysis tasks.
- Foster a mindset of innovation and experimentation with AI across quality engineering, security, and CI/CD disciplines.
