Geotechnical Engineering Manager Nordics
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Manager Nordics to become part of Geobear’s international team to be responsible for geotechnical engineering in Sweden and Finland to develop the company's business! This role can be located in either Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki or Tampere.

In this broad and versatile role, you will do geotechnical design, structural planning, design calculations and modelling for challenging customer projects in Nordics, both in Sweden and Finland. The destinations are versatile and partly demanding, but your skills are needed especially in the infrastructure and industrial sectors. As an Engineer Manager, you also act as a technical expert, making reports and opinions in support of sales. Your other broad area of responsibility is development work, which includes, among other things, building guidelines for the methods used by Geobear and managing projects. You will participate in multinational development projects such as certifications, you are involved in product development, as well as in research work and you actively take them forward at the local level. As an Engineer Manager, you are part of the Nordic management team. As the operation grows, you will be given senior responsibility and you will be able to build a team for yourself.
You may be the person we are looking for, if you have several years of experience in versatile foundation design and a genuine interest in technical development work. In order to succeed in the task, you are systematic, proactive and want to move your own and the entire Geobear operation forward! You do a lot of stakeholder cooperation, so we expect you to have good communication skills in both Swedish and English. Geobear's offices are located in Stockholm and Vantaa (Helsinki), they work flexibly with a hybrid model.
The applicant is expected to have following competence:
- Geotechnical engineering (M.Sc./B.Sc)
- Several years of extensive geotechnical engineering experience, e.g. infrastructure and industry
- Knowledge of structural engineering
- Industry experience in Infrastructure/Civil engineering projects
- Knowledge and experience of industry standards and regulations
- Experience in geotechnical design calculations and softwares
- Good Swedish and/or Finnish, as well as English language skills
In addition, the following are considered advantageous:
- National qualification for foundation design engineering
- Experience using the Plaxis program
- Experience in engineering research & development

Structure within the organisation:
- In this role you report to the MD Nordics and VP Engineering
- Parallel contacts within the company are the Engineering Managers of the UK, Poland and China. You are a member of the Nordic Management Team and the Geobear Engineering Team.
The role is a full-time and permanent position with six months’ probation time. This position is desired to be filled as soon as possible. We are looking for candidates located in either the Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki or Tampere areas. The role is hybrid which means work can be carried out both at home and from the office; minimum one day per week is expected to be spent at the office either in Stockholm or Helsinki.
